The Optimist International Caribbean District (OICD) is a regional district / branch of Optimist International, a worldwide community service organization dedicated to “bringing out the best in Youths” through positive service projects.
It is made up of adult clubs, Junior and college Clubs. Clubs are autonomous
but aligned under the district. The OICD focuses its efforts on youth development in the Caribbean, implementing initiatives such as the Bridging the Gap program to support young people transitioning from the child protection system and sponsoring events like the Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) to promote inclusion
Marketing Optimism
Marketing is promoting your Club and what it does for the community to potential Members and to the children you serve. Marketing / public relations, service and growth are important to every Optimist Club. Clubs provide service, which should be promoted to the media and local community! New Members allow the Club to provide more service!
