Community Activities

Childhood Health & Wellness

Childhood Health & Wellness Program is an initiative aiming to improve the quality of life for children by addressing health-related issues through service projects and events, such as health and wellness fairs, to benefit local youth and communities.

Youth Appreciation

The Tri-Star Sports Program is a series of sports skills competitions held within the Caribbean District where young people participate in specific sports, such as basketball, soccer, and golf, as part of Optimist International’s broader mission to “bring out the best in children”.

Tri Sports

Youth Safety

The Optimist International’s Caribbean District engages in various youth safety initiatives through community-based service projects and activities, such as mentoring “at-risk” youth, safety education programs, and events like bicycle rodeos and fire drills.

About Optimists International

The Optimist International Caribbean District (OICD) is a regional district/branch of Optimist International, a worldwide community service organization dedicated to “bringing out the best in Youths” through positive service projects. It is made up of “adult clubs, Junior and college Clubs. Clubs are autonomous but aligned under the district.

The OICD focuses its efforts on youth development in the Caribbean, implementing initiatives such as the Bridging the Gap program to support young people transitioning from the child protection system and sponsoring events like the Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) to promote inclusion
